I think they get it in school also... they are constantly told how dangerous
guns are and how if they see any they should let an adult know right away.
They are not taught the right to self-defense and as far as I can tell are
being trained to be sheep, completely dependent on other people for protection.

My 12 year old stepdaughter rolls her eyes when I ask what she thinks would
happen if someone broke into the house and tried to hurt one of us.  She'd call
the police and they'd stop them.

Nope.  The police would show up after the fact and make us fill out paperwork
about it, but I don't quite have the heart to tell her that.
