The problem with so many RTS titles is that they turn into matches about who can click faster when they become human vs human. Even Command and Conquer pretty much turned into pumping up light/middle tanks, and the one who rushed with them the quikests won :) When I want to exercise my thinking, I prefer turn based strategy games. When I want to exercise my reflexes, I prefer shooters or platformers. RTS fall in a weird spot where they have a bit of thinking (you have to build your rush engine, so you end up learning some opening "moves") and then a lot of clicking and micromanaging. What I like from RTS is the single player campaigns, because they feel like puzzles to be solved. Most early RTS gave you a lame base and pitted you against an enemy with heavy defenses, and the challenge was to find out a way to crack those defenses. -- gopher://gopher.richardfalken.com/1/richardfalken --- þ Synchronet þ Palantir BBS * palantirbbs.ddns.net * Pensacola, FL .
