I would have been about 7 years old at the time. I'm into weird and wacky movies, the odd visuals, the over-the-top crazyness, I find that appealing not a turn off. The new movie I have seen, and is quite good. Flawed though because of the dense nature of the source material, the difficultly in condensing such a sweeping, multifaceted saga into a moview. The ending I think would turn off many who haven't read the book, appearing to be abrupt and unsatisfying. Still, this new Dune movie created a sense of grand scale which the original didn't do, the size of Arrakis, the Heighliners. It needed more Piter though, such a great character. ....
