But hey, it gave birth to endless spin-off products, such as the Dune and Dune II
videogames.

I don'd think Lynch's film was that bad. It tried to cram so much plot within a single
movie in a day and age in which it was less acceptable to produce long movie sagas. IN
fact, I am surprised they didn't remake Dune as a 5 or 6 movie series :-P
