Probably.  I know that works for some channels.  There's one local channel near me that used to let you watch their local news on their web site, but a few months ago they stopped streaming it on their web site.  Now you have to use their own app to stream it, and for that, you have to have a subscription with a premium TV provider and log in with them in order to stream news with their app.  Since I don't really want to get a premium TV service, that's not going to work for me.

If you can get TV over the air, that's something that still just works and is free.  I'm able to watch local news over the air (and I can DVR it to watch later if I really wanted to), and that's working for me for now.
