Laugh-In was VERY timely.

I remember seeing some episodes when I was a kid and I didn't get some of the
more political jokes.  Today, I watch the same episodes and I still don't get
some of the political jokes because the politics of the time are long gone.

What I find interesting is that when they were first broadcast, they were
offensive to the "right".  Today they are offensive to the "left".
