I worked for a printing company, and the IT manager would allow users to use a
external mail app on their personal cell phones and Ipod touch's when
connected through the internal wifi.  This was around 2011/ 2012, so there wer
e a few generations out there.  The managers that carried them all had
slightly older models their kids had abandoned.  It was easier to get than
ask for a company device.
