There is not much of a reason for having a vanity portable music player anymore. I never understood the iPod fever. A Sansa Clip would get you about the same service without making you dependent of the Apple ecosystem. Everybody who used an iPod around me needed a different sort of wire and a specific software suite for it. Meanwhile normal people using commodity players got the same service without having to suffer.
