If you're in a big city, add in the cost of parking tickets. When I was in 
college in San Francisco without a parking space, tickets may have been my 
biggest expense.

This was before smart phones and calendars that could tell you if it was the 
first or third Friday of the month when looking at the street cleaning 
signs.
