I think 2016 was even worse.  At least in 2020, you had an incumbent and
could make some judgement based on what he had/hadn't done over the
previous 4 years.  In 2016, you had one candidate who no one believed was
running or believed would win, and another candidate who was past her prime
(but not as much as Joe) and who was so full of herself it was impossible
for me to ever consider her.

I suspect that, in 2016, many folks voted for Trump in hopes of keeping HRC
out.
