You have hit on a reason or two why I like seeing them.  I can remember
back in the 1980s/90s when we used to have very active ANSI art echoes that
contained art from even non-sysops.  I still do enjoy seeing ANSI art, and
I enjoy the ads when sysops switch them up a little bit every now and
then.  ;)
