Actually no - TEOS (The Exploration Of Space) was/is a door game from Seth
Robinson, the creator or LORD (Legend of the Red Dragon).  Basically it's a
space drama that revolves around the interplanetary trading of goods. Players
buy items from one space station and transporting their purchases to another in
hopes of selling the them at a profit.

VGA Planets on the other hand was one of the first "door games" where you
downloaded a packet of information, played your turn offline (with GLORIOUS VGA
GRAPHICS!!! ;) then uploaded your information packet to be processed by the bbs
during maintenance.

VGA Planets is basically a 4x (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate)
stragetgy game created by Tim Wiseman.  It was so popular it spawned an
entirely new game (but basically the same) called "Planets Nu" (
https://planets.nu/ ) that is still quite popular today and played via web, but
for a true nostalgic experience it's best to play the original :)
