I remember trying out Compu$erve back in the mid 1980's.

It was very old feeling (comparing to BBSs at the time) and was more of a
status symbol for people to have a Compu$erve account.  There were a good
number of people on it, but it was sort of just running on momentum at that
time.

Did I mention that it was very pricy?
