By 'FidoNet' you probably mean the NA backbone systems. The area probably still
 exists on some systems. You just have to find them and get them linked back
somewhere. ;)
When it comes to echomail areas in fidonet, there is no (single) authority that
 decides which areas are carried or not.

I wouldn't mind carrying it on my system (as long as it's not gated to a
newsgroup). I have fidonet connections with most of my AmigaNet links. So if
Dave has it I can connect to it on his system and the others can connect it
here...
