A lot of people that I went to high school and college with are like that.
One of them did spend time in post-Communist Russia for a while, but none
of the others have ever left the States.  Heck, they've not even tried leaving
for some place that even has socialized medicine, even though they spend a
lot of time posting about how great those countries are on the FB.

It is no surprise that most all of them majored in theatre or political
science or some other major that is pretty worthless in any job market
anywhere.  That is, except one of them.  The most loud-mouthed of them all
was a year ahead of me when I started HS.  When I graduated, he was in my
class.  When I was a freshman and sophomore in college, he was still a
senior in high school.

What they all seem to have in common is a desire to not be responsible for
much of anything.
