Yeah, we have teo chains around here - Safeway and Nob Hill Foods. Safeway's 
checkstands have a conveyor you need to put your items in, and I've had some 
of the checkers ask you to take items out of a hand-basket and place them on 
the conveyor. Some not so nicely.

Then, he or she will continue gossiping with the checker in the aisle next 
to you, and if you buy bags, will fill them and leave them at the collection 
area at the bottom of the conveyor, looking at you blankly while you load 
your bags into the cart. If you bring your own bags, they'll let you fill 
them yourself, usually.

Nob Hill has those carts with the front that drops down, so they unload the 
cart, put the groceries in bags, and put them back in the cart.

Guess where I go?
