Subj : New Terminator movie coming out To : jack phlash From : Digital Avatar Date : Sun Oct 06 2019 21:34:57 on 06 Oct 2019, jack phlash said... jp> I mean, I wish it wouldn't but it seems like making a good Dune adaption jp> is entirely impossible, doesn't it? Not at all. Lynch got the general atmosphere right and spent good money on costuming and set design. He picked some halfway decent actors... who then proceeded to ham it up, especially the idiot playing the Baron Harkonnen. By contrast, the miniseries spent about $1.98 on sets and costuming (they actually played up the notion that using painted backdrops and stage lighting was a good thing -- I couldn't fucking believe it), picked a bunch of nobodies as actors, but walked away with, I think, the better product. Also I realize now I accidentally conflated Lynch's movie with the miniseries in another reply in this thread. :/ jp> I admit I have a soft spot for the David Lynch movie.
