Did the return shipping have any sort of insurance?  I returned a really
expensive mechanical keyboard a few years back and it got completely lost, so
the company refused to refund and I had no hardware.

I was able to open up a claim with USPS and it took a while but eventually I
got a full refund for the price I paid.

I can't remember if it was insured or if I was able to do that only because
they were liable for losing the package but maybe that is worth looking into.
