This brings back memories from $workplace[2]: we would have the Star Trek bible handy for whenever new stuff had to be named. As such, my laptop was 'kes' and I would connect to the 'Ticonderoga' or 'Chancellor' :)

Not sure about the book's title, but it was co-authored by Brannon Braga IIRC
