For a little while, in 1997, I was tinkering with an OS/2 BBS package called AdeptXBBS.  I remember it having a GUI BBS monitor, or at least a GUI configurator program.  I thought it looked interesting, though I didn't do much with it, as I was already running a BBS with different software (RemoteAccess) and didn't really feel like switching.
