Local calls - Anything in the same area code or closeby. Local for me was upto about 25 miles. Long Distance - Anything else outside the immediate area Trunk - These are slightly lower rates between larger cities such as London and Birmingham. Calls were cheaper after 6pm on weekdays and all weekend. I used to call boards all over the UK, which explains the massive phone bills I racked up. After moving to the US, I didn't even think about bulletin boards since I had all the internet I could wish for, even if it was at 14.4K. -- End Of The Line BBS - Plano, TX telnet endofthelinebbs.com 23 .
