 I can tell you what got me hooked. The movie "Gettysburg". It is said this
movie is the most historically correct movie ever made about the Civil War.
Because soldiers were allowed to write and send letters there's a wealth of
information.So much of it is left up to debate.Why did that brigade retreat?
Was that Captain too hungover to lead the charge? Then once you sink your teeth
into it you can go tour the battle field to walk and see where it all happened.
If you really think about it 1863 was not that long ago. Americans were killing
Americans on their own country. So yea..A good place to start is "The Battle of
Gettysburg.
