Not sure if you've dabbled in this realm yet or not, but I'm currently running 
plex-media-server on one of my RPi3's, and it doesn't seem to want to play 
anything larger than 720p HD (non-blu ray). As soon as I try to play a blu ray 
movie it actually gives a warning message saying the server isn't powerful 
enough. :(

So keep that in mind when you add movies to your media center, in case you see 
anything similar.
