       Black gained two extra points in this sequence and White lost 7 points in the corner, so Black has gained 9 points. A White capture at A in sente is worth four points, so in the end it's a gain of five points for Black. White did gain thickness on the outside and so it's a question of whether that thickness is worth the loss of 5 points. Obviously AlphaGo thinks so, but I would say no, definitely not. In fact, in most games, that thickness would not amount to anything. It's not a mistake, per se, but a judgement that I don't agree with.
       
       That said, it's hard to call. In some games, the difference on the outside would be pretty important too. I think human players, too, would have slightly different judgements as well. But with 5 points I think it's a bit too big. If it were, say, 3 points, I'd maybe lean towards AlphaGo's choice.
