The flow of this game is very strange in the beginning. When Black has the marked group looking like a wall facing to the right, it seems natural for Black to play a move on the upper or right side to start a moyo, and this kakari seems premature in this position.
Not only does AlphaGo not play the "natural" move at A, it's not even playing on the right (i.e. correct) side of the board. Even if Black doesn't play at A, I would expect a play at B or something on the right hand side of the board because that's the direction Black's stones are pointing.
So black 11, since it doesn't make direct use of the marked stones, looks strange to me. But, thinking about it, one is reminded that the proverb says that a kakari comes first, after taking the corner in the opening. So it's the kind of move one can expect from AlphaGo it's a big opening move. But I'm not crazy about it because it's in a part of the part that's not a high priority. So it looks small to me.
