Among these are references to a "GeForce RTX 3060" with 8 GB of memory, and more interestingly, a 20 GB variant of the RTX 3080. The list also confirms the RTX 3070S with 16 GB of memory.
21
22 The RTX 3080 launched last week comes with 10 GB of memory across a 320-bit memory interface, using 8 Gbit memory chips, while the RTX 3090 achieves its 24 GB memory amount by piggy-backing two of these chips per 32-bit channel (chips on either side of the PCB). It's conceivable that the the RTX 3080 20 GB will adopt the same method. There exists a vast price-gap between the RTX 3080 10 GB and the RTX 3090, which NVIDIA could look to fill with the 20 GB variant of the RTX 3080. The question on whether you should wait for the 20 GB variant of the RTX 3080 or pick up th 10 GB variant right now, will depend on the performance gap between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. We'll answer this question next week.

Possibly its most cost-effective card based on the $1,500 GPU, the Turbo Edition features a classic lateral-blower based cooling solution that guides all its air through an aluminium channel-type heatsink, and out of the rear bracket, with none of it exhausted into the case. This is a bold choice for a cooler given the feisty 350 W typical board power for the RTX 3090. The card is exactly 2 slots thick, and just 26.6 cm long, making it possibly the shortest air-cooled RTX 3090. It's a little over 11 cm tall (standard full-height). An interesting design choice by GIGABYTE is to locate the card's two 8-pin PCIe power connectors at the tail end of the card. GIGABYTE didn't reveal whether the card features factory-overclocked speeds, but we expect it to stick to reference speeds. Display outputs include two each of HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a connectors.

The VISION brand by GIGABYTE is targeted at creators, and the company wagers it can sell the RTX 3080 to this market, hoping they get the hint to pair it with NVIDIA's Studio drivers. The RTX 3080 VISION OC combines a black PCB with a mostly-white cooling solution that's characteristic of the VISION design scheme, along with some brushed aluminium accents.
37
38 The top of the card features a large silicon ARGB diffuser that lights up in any color or transitions of color. The triple-slot, triple-fan cooler uses multiple aluminium fin-stacks skewered by six 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes that pull heat over a copper base-plate. The cooler is longer than the PCB, so GIGABYTE punched holes through the back-plate to let airflow form the third fan through. GIGABYTE ships the card with a yet-unspecified factory-overclock. The card draws power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Display outputs include two HDMI 2.1 and three DisplayPort 1.4a connectors. The card is 32 cm long and 12.6 mm tall, and needs three slots in your system. The company didn't reveal pricing.

It's a bit like a Dali painting, with surrealist expectations, a whispered "NVIDIA's Ultimate Play" through virtual hallways, blink-and-you-missed-it details materialized in stock availability, and science-fiction-worthy bots scouring all available stores for their deployment overlords. Wherever you turn, there are would-be buyers complaining of furious F5 attempts (we heard F5 key replacements are also out of stock these days), with store availability going from "available soon" to "out of stock" faster than a single DOOM Eternal frame can be rendered. Most webstores crashed in one way or another, multiple buyers got attributed the same card from a webstore stock, and even NVIDIA's own store (you know, the one powered by the company who actually drives some of the world's fastest supercomputers) faltered under the pressure.
46
47 In other corners of the Internet, however, expectations were met and attempts flourished. These seem to have been mostly met by scalpers, though, so there is nothing idyllic in this particular painting - it's more akin to Edvard Munch's The Scream than it is Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. On eBay, an RTX 3080 card was allegedly sold for 70,000$ - a particularly criminal act, if I've ever seen one. It's also common, right now, to see some of these going for prices ranging between $1,300 and $5,000 - and at this point, this writer feels he's almost out of metaphors for this particular situation. Apparently, a service named Bounce Alerts was used - it appears that most RTX 3080 orders were done through this service, which automatically bought as much RTX 3080 stock as it could from wherever they were sold. A user reported having acquired some 42 RTX 3080's from the NVIDIA store before stock ran out. There are even bots designed to bid on eBay sales so as to waste scalpers' time and make orders that will never be fulfilled - a sort of poetic justice, if you may, though I don't believe the kind Shakespeare himself would have conceived of.

The "Vermeer" MCM implements the company's "Zen 3" microarchitecture in the client segment. It features up to two 7 nm-class CPU complex dies with up to 8 cores, each, and a refreshed cIOD (client IO die). AMD has allegedly improved the cIOD with a new memory controller and several new toggles that improve memory bandwidth. The cIOD combines a PCI-Express Gen 4 root complex with a dual-channel DDR4 memory controller. With "Zen 3," AMD is also introducing an improved boosting algorithm, and an improved SMT feature.
55
56 Coming back to AMD's rumored nomenclature, and we could see the company bumping up its processor model numbers to the 5000 series for equivalent core-counts. For example, the Ryzen 9 5900X is a 12-core/24-thread part, much like the 3900X; whereas the Ryzen 7 5800X is an 8-core/16-thread part. This flies in the face of rumors that AMD could take advantage of the 8-core CCX design of the "Zen 3" microarchitecture by carving out 10-core parts using two CCDs with 5 cores enabled, each. The reason AMD is skipping the 4000 series numbering with "Vermeer" probably has something to do with "Renoir" taking up many of the 4000-series model numbers. "Renoir" is based on "Zen 2," and recently made its desktop debut, albeit as an OEM-exclusive. The company is planning to introduce certain 4000G series models to the DIY retail segment. AMD is expected to announce its first "Zen 3" client-segment processors on October 8, 2020.

To boast, TSMC has seen all of its capacity of 7 nm being fully booked by customers like AMD, Apple, and NVIDIA. However, it seems like the company's next-generation 5 nm node is also getting high demand. According to the latest report from DigiTimes, TSMC's N5 5 nm node is fully booked to the end of 2020. And the biggest reason for that is the biggest company in the world - Apple. Since Apple plans to launch the next-generation iPhone, iPad, and Arm-based MacBook, the company has reportedly booked most of the 5 nm capacity for 2020, meaning that there are lots of chips that Apple will consume. TSMC can't be dependent only on one company like Apple, so the smaller portion of capacity went to other customers as well.

The monitor is developed to reflect the needs and workstyles of professionals working in trading rooms, home trading stations, and back offices. The ultrawide 3840 x 1600 (UWQHD+) resolution affords nearly triple the pixels compared to Full HD so users can freely arrange multiple applications across the vast screen. The closer a user sits to a large monitor, the greater the distance between their eyes and the far edges of the screen. The FlexScan EV3895's gentle concave brings those edges in to a more comfortable distance, improving visibility, focus, and immersion.
130
131 The FlexScan EV3895 reflects the needs of enterprises and workplace professionals that require ready-to-use solutions to facilitate multitasking and task switching. The Picture-by-Picture (PbyP) function displays images from up to three video input sources simultaneously, saving the time and hassle of switching between sources when operating more than one computer. Furthermore, users can choose from six predefined layouts to suit their individual workstyle. The monitor's integrated USB Selection function also allows users to use a single mouse and keyboard to operate each PbyP window, eliminating the need for additional peripherals in the workspace.

The brand new water block is aptly named EK-Quantum Vector RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB, and it is very important to keep in mind that this reference design water block is not meant for Founders Edition graphics cards - those will get their own, separate, specifically designed EK water blocks.
139
140 "This latest graphics card launch was no different from the last one. The information that was available to us prior to the launch was very scarce. With new information surfacing each hour, we had made some drastic decisions that we thought were the best choice for both our customers and our partners. Over the night, we have completely redesigned our 2nd generation Vector water blocks aimed for reference layout graphics cards," said Edvard König, the founder of EK.

Version 456.38 WHQL comes with support for the new GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 "Ampere" graphics cards. The mammoth software release also adds optimization for "Fortnite" with RTX and DLSS on all GeForce RTX GPUs. The new NVIDIA Reflex technology is formally launched, with support for "Fortnite" and "Valorant." Reflex is supported on all NVIDIA GPUs going back to the GTX 900 series "Maxwell." Optimizations are also added for "Halo 3: OSDT" and "Mafia: Definitive Edition." Also introduced are the NVIDIA Broadcast app, and a host of new GeForce Experience features, including in-game performance/overlay, one-click performance tuning, HDR ShadowPlay Capture, AV1 decoding, support for new G-SYNC compatible displays.
148
149 Buried in the bowels of the driver change-log is a big disclosure, that the RTX 30-series "Ampere" GPUs don't support SLI (as in implicit multi-GPU), only explicit multi-GPU through modern APIs such as DirectX 12 and Vulkan (if supported by the game). NVIDIA has already restricted the NVLink interface needed for SLI only to its topmost RTX 3090 SKU, so the lack of implicit multi-GPU effectively marks the end of SLI for future GPUs. That said, the technology itself is very much present on all GPUs that support it, provided games do. NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 30 series "Watch Dogs: Legion" + GeForce NOW bundle. Buying a new GeForce RTX 30-series graphics card now comes with a year's membership of the GeForce NOW cloud gaming service, plus you get the next chapter in the Watch Dogs franchise, which supports a ton of NVIDIA RTX features, possibly including DLSS 8K.
The Cras XR RGB features a metal heatspreader with a dotted pattern (42.5 mm height), topped by an RGB LED bar compatible with multiple RGB control software in the market (think ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, and Razer Chroma RGB, among others). The Cras XR RGB is available in kits ranging from 8 GB single-stick through to 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) kits in multiple memory speeds; 3600 MHz with 18-22-22-42 timings @ 1.35 V (up to 2x 16 GB); 4000 MHz with 19-25-25-45 timings @ 1.40 V (up to 2x 8 GB) and 4200 MHz with 19-26-26-46 timings @ 1.40 V (up to 2x 8 GB).
159
160 The Bolt XR forgoes the RGB lighting and uses a textured metal heatspreader with black branding (36.7 mm height). The Bolt XR isn't available at the top 4200 MHz speed, though; it seems top performance is reserved for RGB enthusiasts. The only available speeds are 3600 MHz with 18-22-22-42 timings @ 1.35 V (up to 2x 16 GB) and 4000 MHz with 19-25-25-45 timings @ 1.40 V (up to 2x 8 GB). No word on pricing or availability was known at time of writing, though Klevv does offer a limited lifetime warranty for these modules.

The company is leveraging its HERO in-house developed sensor to demonstrate its capabilities, achieving a "sub-micron level sensitivity" as a testament to its hardware prowess. Granted, Logitech knows users will be hard-pressed to actually gain anything from this DPI resolution compared to, say, the 16,000 DPI that is more common amongst high-end mouse solutions. More than anything, this serves as a sort of "achievement unlocked" for the company.
168
169 The 25,600 DPI do mean that the mouse doesn't need any external corrections on its way to 98% tracking accuracy though - no mouse smoothing or acceleration is required. Users who have chosen to partner with Logitech and acquired a G903 Hero, G502 Lightspeed, Pro Wireless, G703 Hero, G604, G502 Hero, G403 Hero, or a Pro mouse all can have this latest firmware installed, which will increase the selectable DPI settings in Logitech's G Hub. Just use the hub to download and install the new firmware revision and you should be all set to go.

First things first: the PS5 will be launching in two version, as we've known for a while, with different pricing according to the console version you choose. The "vanilla" PS5 which includes a 4K Bluray disc drive will be going for $499; its price-reduced cousin, the PS5 Digital Edition, forgoes the 4K Bluray disc drive to deliver a $399 pricing.
177
178 Alongside pricing details, Sony also announced the PS5 exclusive games we can count on the consoles' launch, which is set for November 12th. These include Astro's Playroom (Japan Studio), which will be pre-installed on the PS5 and is thus a free game; the highly-awaited next-gen version of Demon's Souls (Bluepoint Games / Japan Studio) - $69.99; Destruction All Stars (Lucid Games / XDEV) - $69.99; Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - $49.99; Marvel's Spider-Man: Mile Morales Ultimate Edition - $69.99; and Sackboy A Big Adventure (Sumo Digital / XDEV) - $59.99.

It appears that RetiredEngineer (@chiakokhua on Twitter) got a hold of the pricing of TSMCs wafers on every manufacturing node starting from 90 nm down to 5 nm. That includes a wide portfolio of 65, 40, 28, 20, 16/12, 10, and 7 nm nodes as well. The table shown below includes information dating to April 2020, so it is possible that some things are now different and they surely are. There are a few quite interesting notes from the image, namely the price increase as the node shrinks.
203
204 From 90 nm to 20 nm, the price of the wafer didn't increase as much, however, starting from 16/12 nm node(s), TSMC has seen costs per wafer, and other costs increase exponentially. For example, just compare the 10 nm wafer price of $5992 with the price of a 5 nm wafer which costs an amazing $16988. This is more than a 180% price increase in just three years, however, the cost per transistor is down as you get around 229% higher density in that period, making TSMC actually in line with Moore's Law. That is comparing Transistor density (MTr / mm²) of 52.51 million transistors for the 10 nm node and 173 million transistors per mm² of the 5 nm node .

When it releases on October 29, 2020, "Legion" will be among the first to feature new NVIDIA technologies such as DLSS 8K, letting you take advantage of GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs to play the game at 8K. It also features support for NVIDIA RTX real-time raytracing, and DLSS 2.0 performance-enhancing image quality features. Other PC-specific technical features include an uncapped frame-rate, support for various ultra-widescreen display aspect-ratios, a selection of in-game graphics settings, and an internal benchmark that also tests NVIDIA RTX performance.
212
213 With raytracing off, Watch Dogs: Legion doesn't call for particularly exotic hardware. A 1080p "High" preset experience can be had with a sub-$150 processor such as the Ryzen 5 1600, GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB or Radeon RX 480 8 GB graphics; 8 GB of dual-channel main memory, and 45 GB of storage. 4K UHD without raytracing takes something like a Core i7-9700K or Ryzen 7 3700X processor, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or Radeon VII graphics, 16 GB of dual-channel memory, and 65 GB of storage (45 GB base + 20 GB HD textures pack). For 1080p gameplay with raytracing, you'll need at least an RTX 2070 graphics card, and modern mid-range chips such as the i5-9600K or R5 3600. Want to truly max out the game with 4K + raytracing? Get ready with at least an i7-9700K or R7 3700X, and an RTX 2080 Ti.

The complete system requirements lists follow.

Earlier this year, Goodenough, along with several members of his lab at UT, started working with EnergyX, a young energy technology company founded by entrepreneur Teague Egan and with labs near Silicon Valley, in an effort to radically rethink the approach to energy storage.
313
314 As the recipient of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Dr. Goodenough's pioneering work on the lithium-ion battery led to a revolution in portable electronic devices. While heading the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory at Oxford University nearly 40 years ago, he discovered the feasibility of lithium cobalt oxide as a cathode material, which enabled the commercialization of the first rechargeable lithium-ion battery by the Sony Corporation.

There are some likely reasons for this move from Sony; for one, the rapid uptake on mainstream media following the initial Bloomberg report may have garnered a little too much attention for comfort. Consider the fact that Sony's share price fell some 3.5% following the report, however, and you can see how these rumors may have forced the company's hand to stem the bleeding.
331
332 Sony quells this rumor with extreme prejudice, too. According to the company, speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, "While we do not release details related to manufacturing, the information provided by Bloomberg is false. We have not changed the production number for PlayStation 5 since the start of mass production." That should settle things - and mean there will be 4 million more PS5s up for grab out there at launch. It was, in any event, strange that the chip inside the PS5 was having such troubling 50% yield number as was advanced by the Bloomberg report; we know that Ryzen itself has been designed by AMD with manufacturing yields and cost-reduction in mind for some time, now.

The new Acer CB342CKC enters the company's OmegaLine lineup, and features a 34" IPS panel with a UWQHD (3,440 x 1,440) resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The panel features a run-of-the-mill "up to 75 Hz" refresh rate, and Acer quotes 1 ms response times. The low refresh rate could be somewhat compensated by the addition of AMD's FreeSync.
340
341 The CB342CKC further features 400 nits brightness, though there is no DisplayHDR certification. The monitor covers 99% of the sRGB color space, and viewing angles are par of the course for an IPS panel - 178º. I/O wise, we can count on 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 2x USB 3.1 Type-A (hub), and a built-in 2x 3 W stereo speaker. Quality of life features include - 5° to 35° tilt adjustment, 360° swivel, 150 mm height adjustment, and a 100x100mm pitch VESA mount.

Both series provide an attractive soft-glow ARGB lighting effect through their frosted fan blades, illuminating the insides of the case, while the Saturn series also features rigid stripes around its transparent frame that provides a unique effect as the light refracts through.
383
384 The Saturn ASN140 provides up to 93.97CFM of airflow, while the Jupiter AJ140 provides up to 100.45 CFM of airflow. Their wide speed range, 4-pin intelligent PWM control and shock-proof rubber mounting pads means they are ideal for either CPU coolers, liquid cooling radiators or as part of an air-cooled PC. Both series are equipped with sleeve bearings to provide lower noise output and a longer lifespan.

Their custom watercooling line, the Hydro X Series, is not always one of them and so we end up seeing quiet updates without a press release or even a direct note from their representatives to the media. With the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000-series cards coming in three different categories as far as custom watercooling goes (reference, Founders Edition, AIC-variants), we took the weekend to briefly check what the usual custom watercooling suspects were up to. A page on the CORSAIR website confirms, among other things, that Hydro X GPU blocks are on the way for at least the reference PCB, if not more.
393 More interestingly, we noted that the Hydro XC7 and XC9 CPU blocks had been updated in more ways than one. We have detailed reviews of both (XC7, XC9) for those who want to see, and our review of the iCUE Nexus also showed a rebranding in the making for the company. The updated CPU blocks carry the new wordmark design for the logo on all 5 SKUs and, more importantly, change the mounting mechanism to allow for a captive system with new thumb screws that should make installation even easier on all Intel and AMD CPU sockets. This should bring with it increased compatibility with crowded m-ITX motherboards as well, and we see it reflected in the additional 719 motherboards in the compatibility list relative to before. Finally, a motherboard ARGB LED adapter is now included in the packaging, so you can use the integrated lighting with motherboard LED headers and control software, should you not want to pony extra for CORSAIR's ecosystem. Pricing for the Hydro XC7 is now $5 higher and the same as the XC9, which is confusing given it uses fewer fins on the cold plate and, the launch versions at least, employed a plastic trim compared to the metal on the XC9. We have contacted the company for clarification on this, and will update the post as we receive more information.
394
395 [Update, September 16: CORSAIR has a new photo for their example GPU block that looks suspiciously like it is meant for the FE RTX 3000-series cards. Note also the revised I/O port terminal which should help address some concerns people had about the previous design.]

The Arctis 9 will be compatible with the PlayStation 5 at launch. The Arctis 9 features SteelSeries' proven ultra-low latency 2.4GHz lossless wireless connection for high fidelity audio, so gamers can enjoy a lag-free gaming experience on both PC and PlayStation. Like the Arctis Pro Wireless and Arctis 9X, the Arctis 9 also features a simultaneous Bluetooth connection to mobile devices for calls, music and VoIP chat while listening to game audio with lossless 2.4GHz clarity.
412
413 The Arctis 9 continues the Arctis family tradition by using the same Discord-certified microphone and critically acclaimed signature Arctis soundscape as the rest of the Arctis line. The ClearCast microphone uses a bidirectional design for superior noise cancellation and natural-sounding clarity, while the signature Arctis soundscape emphasizes both subtle and critical in-game sounds, allowing gamers to hear every in-game detail.

These build on top of the official render and Fortnite 3D model reveal from Monday. The first picture shows a top angle shot of AMD's upcoming flagship card, with its dual-slot, triple fan cooling solution. You also get to see the new fan design that has webbed impellers, similar to the ASUS Axial-Tech fans, which direct all their airflow axially, onto the heatsink below. Besides red and black, there are silver bits on the metal cooler shroud, including bits of reflective chrome, and diamond-cut bores of the fan intakes.
421
422 Jayz also revealed a never-before-seen smaller reference design card from the RX 6000 series, which features a slightly shorter board design, and a dual-fan setup. He predicts that the larger triple-fan card could be released as a range-topping RX 6900 series, while the dual-fan card could launch in a different segment—6800 or 6700 series. AMD is expected to reveal the RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards on October 28, 2020, but along the way we're sure to receive many more such reveals.

However, it seems like there are more reasons for the deal than what meets the eye. In the briefing regarding the acquisition, NVIDIA's CEO was asked a question, by Timothy Prickett Morgan, from TheNextPlatform, about NVIDIA's plans for a possible implementation of Arm's Neoverse core in an NVIDIA-branded CPU design and start selling them to data centers. To that question, Mr. Huang gave a prolonged answer indirectly saying that the company can build the CPU if there is a market for it.
466
467 He explains that there is an entire network surrounding the Arm ecosystem and that there may be customers interested in contracting NVIDIA to build them semi-custom or completely custom chip based on Arm ISA on NVIDIA's own interest. Any of these options are available and Mr. Haung says that they are there for the best interest of the ecosystem to enrich it enhance it even further. This means that it is just a matter of time before we see NVIDIA-branded CPU make its way to data-center or some other areas of technology, so we have to wait and see for ourselves.

This announcement comes after Microsoft recovered its data center capsule from the seafloor alongside the Orkney Islands after a two-year-long deployment. The self-contained server pod (made up of 12 racks and 864 servers) was filled with nitrogen, and achieved a much lower failure rate - component-wise - compared to traditional onshore data centers. In fact, its failure rate was one-eight that of traditional servers. The absence of oxygen and lower humidity levels (no need to keep air comfortable and breathable for human technicians) may have been deciding factors in this failure rate.
484
485 There are some obvious advantages from such an offshore server deployment. For one, all that cold water really helps in cooling down the components inside - there's no need for added expense in cooling solutions. There is also no need for land acquisition or infrastructure development that's typically associated with onshore server sites. The fact that Project Natick was fully powered by renewable energy sources, courtesy of the Orkneys' grid - supplied 100 percent by wind, solar, and experimental green technologies under development at the European Marine Energy Centre. considering its success, it can certainly be expected that Microsoft - and other companies - double down on this type of server deployment.

For one, a product listing shows an Intel DG2 graphic accelerator being paired with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and a Tiger Lake-H CPU (45 W version with 8 cores, which should carry only 32 EUs in integrated graphics hardware). This 8 GB of GDDR6 detail is interesting, as it points towards a 256-bit memory bus - one that is expected to be paired with the 512 EU version of Intel's DG2 (remember that a 384 EU version is also expected, but that one carries only 6 GB of GDDR6, which most likely means a 192-bit bus.
493
494 Videocardz says they have received an image for the block diagram on Intel's DG2, pointing towards a 189 mm² die area for the 384 EU version. Looking at component density, it seems that this particular diagram may refer to an MXM design, commonly employed as a discrete notebook solution. 6 total GDDR6 chips are seen in the diagram, thus pointing towards a memory density of 6 GB and the aforementioned 192-bit bus. Other specs that have turned up in the meantime point towards a USB-C interface being available for the DG2, which could either point towards a Thunderbolt 4-supporting design, or something like Virtual Link.

Reportedly, Mr. Volodymyr found a badly configured Elasticsearch cluster filled with over 100,000 data entries of Razer customers. That means that anywhere from customer email, physical address and phone number have been exposed to the public, making this leak potentially dangerous. What is even more dangerous is that the Elasticsearch cluster was not only exposed to the internet, however, it was also indexed by a search engine, making the data more easily searchable and discoverable. This is a pure admin fail, no hacking was required, they just left the front door open. Razer issued an official response to the incident below:
Razer
We were made aware by Mr. Volodymyr of a server misconfiguration that potentially exposed order details, customer and shipping information. No other sensitive data such as credit card numbers or passwords was exposed.
502 The server misconfiguration has been fixed on 9 Sept, prior to the lapse being made public.
503 We would like to thank you, sincerely apologize for the lapse and have taken all necessary steps to fix the issue as well as conduct a thorough review of our IT security and systems. We remain committed to ensure the digital safety and security of all our customers.

The monoblock provides liquid cooling to the Socket LGA1200 CPU and the adjoining CPU VRM solution, by making contact with its hottest components, the DrMOS, via thermal pads. The CPU contact area features a mirror finish, so you get to use your own TIM. The primary material of the monoblock is nickel-plated copper, coupled with a clear acrylic top that's studded with addressable RGB LEDs. The main coolant channel passes over the VRM area, and a micro-fin lattice over the CPU socket. Available now, the Bitspower BP-MBMZ490ACE is priced at USD $205.

Previously, we reported that Sony has doubled production of the new console amid high demand, where the company expected to sell 10 million units in the fiscal year. The original plan was to have around 15 million units of the new console available by March 31st, 2021. Sony has been spending a lot of resources to get as many units out to consumers, however, the bad SoC yields have held the company back significantly.
527
528 It is reported by Bloomberg that instead of the original 15 million units Sony plans to supply, there will be only 11 million of them. That represents a massive reduction of 4 million units. And you are wondering how bad the yields of the new SoC are to have that big reduction. According to the source, TSMC and Sony are seeing only 50% yields on the production run. It is reported that the yields are gradually improving but have not yet reached the level needed to have a stable supply. This represents a big problem for the company and we don't know who is to blame. TSMC has been very good at manufacturing 7 nm silicon, however, it could be bad design from AMD and Sony that is making the production difficult. We are waiting for more information.

Positioned a notch above the "Founders Edition," this $3,499 card, if even remotely real, could be a limited edition product. The screengrab references "48 GB of G6X" memory. We're not sure how this is even possible. The RTX 3090 already uses 8 Gbit GDDR6X chips, piggybacking two chips per 32-bit memory channel, unless Micron has done the unthinkable by launching a 16 Gbit G6X chip within 2020. Frankly, we're very interested to see how the next-gen Quadro RTX even achieves its alleged 48 GB of GDDR6.
545
546 That aside, the alloy frame now comes with a gold finish. We wonder if memory and a fancy trim is all that NVIDIA is asking the extra 2 Grand for, or if it even maxed out the "GA102" ASIC (there are two more TPCs left to unlock). As for the name "CEO Edition," there have been instances of tech CEOs flexing their vanity on limited edition products. Limited edition Ryzen and Radeon products, for example, bear the AMD CEO's signature. So the name "CEO Edition" by itself isn't implausible. Just not with these specs, and not this price.

The leak confirms many of the existing rumors about the upcoming headset which is set to be announced later this week at Facebook Connect. The Oculus Quest 2 will feature the Snapdragon XR2 processor which has been specifically designed for AR/VR devices and should provide a significant performance increase over the Snapdragon 835 found in the original quest.
554
555 The Oculus Quest 2 will feature "nearly 2K Resolution per eye" which would put the total resolution at just under 4K possibly 3,840 x 2,160. The video did not mention if the display refresh rate would be increased from the 72Hz found on the original Quest but the XR2 platform can support up to 90Hz screens. The ram has been increased to 6 GB from the 4 GB found on the original and max storage has been expanded to 256 GB.

This card will likely be AMD's flagship product based on its RDNA2 graphics architecture. The card features a refreshing new dual-slot, triple axial fan cooling solution that uses large new high-airflow fans that have webbed impellers, and an aluminium fin-stack heatsink that spans the entire length of this roughly-30 cm long card. A variation of the insert with the Radeon branding was teased last year. This is AMD's second reference design with triple axial fans, after the Radeon VII.
563
564 The card features two 8-pin PCIe power inputs right where you expect them. Display outputs include a pair of DisplayPorts, an HDMI, and a USB type-C. Since air exhaust is guided out of the top of the card with its fin-stack arrangement (and none from the rear I/O), AMD has a sealed I/O shield like the Radeon Fury. AMD partnered with Epic Games for a Fortnite treasure-hunt map that lets you see a 3D model of the card in from more angles. We'll spare you the treasure hunt with a video by Anshel Sag.

The Fortnite video follows.

It's a cylindrical, tower-type CPU air cooler. The CPU base features a tiny bit of aluminium finnage. From here, five 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU, conveying heat to a stack of ring-shaped anodized aluminium fins. The fin-stack is ventilated by a high-RPM 60 mm lateral flow fan with a somewhat cylindrical impeller, located underneath the top-plate.
572
573 This fan spins between 1,200 to 3,000 RPM, pushing between 39.7 to 74.3 CFM of air-flow, with 0.91 to 2.13 mm H₂O static pressure. AeroCool claims the noise output ranges between 18 to 30 dBA for this fan, since this isn't just another 60 mm fan, but a cylindrical impeller that happens to have a low diameter when viewed from the top. The fan features a hydraulic bearing, and is rated for 60,000 hours MTBF. The cooler measures 100 mm x 100 mm x 145 mm (WxDxH). AeroCool claims that the Mirage 5 can handle thermal loads of up to 150 W TDP. Among the CPU socket types supported are LGA2066, LGA1200, LGA115x, and AM4. The company didn't reveal pricing or availability.

A video presentation by AeroCool follows.

If you've read our NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition Unboxing Preview, you'll know that NVIDIA ships its Founders Edition cards with a printed warning not to use any third-party adapters to convert 8-pin PCIe power connectors to the 12-pin connector. The warning also asks you to use the included adapter, and that using a third-party adapter would void the warranty. There's no clarity from NVIDIA on whether modular cables that plug directly into a modular PSU and put out 12-pin connectors strictly fit this description, as they're not "adapters."
590
591 Seasonic believes that its cable is a perfect match for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. The cable uses 16 AWG wires. Each 12 V pin of the connector is rated for 9 A current, which means the cable is capable of ferrying up to 540 W of power. On one end of the cable are two 8-pin 12 V connectors (which plug into the 12 V modular back-plane of your PSU), and on the other is one 12-pin connector. The cable is 75 cm in length. The cable is compatible with the company's Prime, Focus, and Core series modular/semi-modular PSUs.

ASUS could leverage IKEA's vast network of stores, coupled with its expertise in furniture packaging. ASUS did not elaborate on this teaser besides a "coming soon" disclaimer. Rumors of YMTC developing its own brand SSDs surfaced first in June. Prior to that in May, it was reported that Phison could add support for YMTC NAND flash chips to variants of its existing SSD controllers, and so it's highly likely that the new YMTC SSDs use Phison-sourced controllers. Interestingly, the company deployed its first-generation Xtracking 64-layer 3D TLC NAND flash chips instead of its 2nd generation 128-layer QLC chips.
641
642 The PC005 Active comes in the M.2-2280 form-factor with PCI-Express 3.0 x4 host interface, leveraging the NVMe 1.3 protocol. The drive is available in 1 TB. 512 GB, and 256 GB capacities. All three variants read sequentially at speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s, wiring at up to 2,900 MB/s, up to 2,500 MB/s, and up to 1,200 MB/s, respectively. Their endurance is rated at 640 TBW for the 1 TB version, 320 TBW for the 512 GB, and 200 TBW for the 256 GB variant. All three are backed by 5-year warranties.

The reason for this, according to a supposed industry insider, boiled down to money (as it almost always does): Samsung simply offered lower pricing for chips manufactured under its 5 nm EUV process than TSMC did. The deal has been claimed to be worth some $840M. This makes sense, as Samsung has a considerable product portfolio - including lucrative memory fabrication - from which it can pool resources so as to lower pricing for new manufacturing technologies, whereas TSMC can only count on revenues it brings in from contracted silicon manufacturing deals.
650
651 Samsung's 5 nm EUV will still offer the now tried-and-true FinFet transistor design - next-generation GAAFET (gate all-around FET) are reserved for the companies' 3 nm efforts. This piece of news directly contradicts Digitimes' earlier reporting on Qualcomm leaving Samsung as a foundry partner due to lower than adequate yields for Samsung's 5 nm EUV. With Samsung already manufacturing NVIDIA's Ampere on its 8 nm node, and now with a confirmed high-volume client with Qualcomm, this likely means more available capacity for other TSMC clients - of which we could mention AMD and Apple.

This was confirmed by Boyd saying that 8-core Tiger Lake CPUs would have access to 24 MB of LLC cache (adequately doubling the 12 MB available for 4-core Tiger Lake-U parts that we already know about); Boyd then simply added in parentheticals "more detail on 8-core products at a later date".
668
669 The 8-core processors will be part of the Tiger Lake-H product stack, which, according to a leaker on PTT Shopping, would scale between the 35 W-45 W TDPs with various core and GPU Execution Unit counts. The 45 W high-performance parts can feature between 4, 6, and 8-cores - but additional space taken up by the CPU cores is thus unavailable for GPU resources, which top out at 32 Intel Xe EUs (and will make use of a BGA1787 socket). The 35 W variants, on the other hand, will be installed in the same socket as Tiger Lake-U - BGA 1449 - and reportedly only offer a 4-core design with 96 EUs.

In the early days of dot com boom, when the internet was taking off, there was a service called Napster which allowed users to download entire music albums in MP3 format for free. Logically you needed an MP3 player to listen to these songs and there came Winamp - the most popular MP3 player at the time with a lot of features like sound equalizer, bitrate adjustment, and more. The users of this piece of software especially liked it because of the one thing - customization. You could have applied all kinds of skins to it, and users distributed a lot of them online. From anime to TV shows, you could find all kinds of skins for it. So to honor the software, there is now an online museum containing over 65.000 skins that you can view in JPG format and download to apply to your Winamp application. You can check out the museum here.

The XC3 forms EVGA's more affordable RTX 3090 offering, while the FTW3 will be the company's premium air-cooled product. There will be liquid-cooled products based on the same PCB as the FTW3, as well as overclocker-segment products under EVGA's Kingpin collaboration.
684
685 The EVGA RTX 3090 XC3 features a simpler dual-slot cooling solution that uses a trio of fans. The card is 11 cm of (standard full-height) tall. It draws power from no more than two 8-pin PCIe power inputs. The card is expected to tick at NVIDIA-reference clock speeds for the RTX 3090, and its non-overclocked variant could be priced close to NVIDIA's $1,499 baseline price. The FTW3, on the other hand, features a meaty triple-slot cooling solution that's at least an inch taller than full-height. The cooler makes lavish use of chrome and RGB LED elements. The PCB uses a meatier VRM solution that pulls power from three 8-pin PCIe power inputs.

This drive is essentially a PCI-Express 4.0 x16 to four M.2 PCIe Gen 4 x4 riser card that comes with four 500 GB AORUS Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSDs pre-installed. Using it requires a platform with PCIe lane segmentation (most modern platforms since 2016 do), and for the OS to support NVMe RAID.
693
694 The riser card component of the AORUS Gen4 AIC SSD has basic logic that controls a lateral blower based on drive temperature, and provides basic disk activity LEDs. Inside, a copper monoblock heatsink pulls heat from all four drives. Each of the four internal M.2 NVMe drives features 96-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory, and Phison E16 controllers. With NVMe RAID striped, the card offers peak performance of up to 15,000 MB/s sequential reads, and up to 9,500 MB/s sequential writes. Random access performance is rated at up to 425,000 IPS 4K random reads, and up to 440,000 IOPS 4K random writes. GIGABYTE is backing the drive with a 5-year warranty. The company didn't reveal pricing.

The SKU is possibly based on the same 8 nm "GA102" silicon as the GeForce RTX 3090, but features more of the silicon unlocked. It apparently features 10,752 CUDA cores, or exactly one TPC (two SMs) more than the RTX 3090. With 84 SM (42 TPC), the unnamed Quadro RTX should feature 84 RT cores, 336 Tensor cores, and 336 TMUs.
702
703 NVIDIA's choice for memory for the upcoming Quadro RTX flagship is interesting, as it's prioritizing memory size over bandwidth (which is more relevant in the professional visualization use-case dealing with large data sets). The card features 48 GB of conventional GDDR6 memory clocked at 16 Gbps over the chip's 384-bit wide memory interface, which should work out to 768 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The max GPU Boost frequency is pegged at 1860 MHz. There's no word on availability. Pictured below is the previous-gen Quadro RTX 5000.
