i'm gonna be distancing myself from this instance and taking care of it. why?- doomscrolling due to the nat sees on the timeline. seriously, i've grown tired of it after all these years- moderation is awful in a public instance setting, i am not as resiliant as :p: and i would rather not have to babysit some of the people on here or wonder if the new sign up is a chomo or something- people have told me they have been harassed by people on this instance and i am not sure i am so comfortable having to live with the fact that something i hosted caused others pain or troublethat's it. nothing about this instance will change except now the registrations are closed. you can now continue about your days

this isn't like a general leaving of the fediverse btw, i will still be very active on @kirby after i import this massive following listi just want to have a hands off approach to lab now after the last bullet point, the straw the broke the camels back. call me whatever you want but being given tons of shit for jannying a server, going into holy wars because chomos got upset i blocked them or whatever, having to explain what the heck the thing i host is and why i allow such things on it, and feeling like i'm fostering an environment that i don't want to be a part of are not things i want to experience again within the next 5 years.
