|$  solve it in the buffer, you move point around; solve it  %|
|$  in a list or in an array or whatever - you can, but the  %|
|$  typically case is that you *do not* move all around the  %|
|$  array. Because you are used to thinking like OK a list,  %|
|$  an array, not a buffer - and then easy to re-assess the  %|
|$  whole problem in a better, more non-move-point way. OK,  %|
