TeleFinder BBS Evaluation Disk

This disk contains the software and documentation necessary to connect to, and setup a TeleFinder BBS.

The TeleFinder BBS Evaluation Disk contains ³TeleFinder/User.sea² and ³TeleFinder BBS Demo.sea.²  These files are self-extracting archives will install the TeleFinder software on your Macıs hard disk.

³TeleFinder/User.sea² installs the client, or user, side of TeleFinder.  TeleFinder/User provides the graphical communications interface for using a TeleFinder BBS.  You can use TeleFinder/User to call the Spider Island support BBS, as well as other TeleFinder BBSes around the world.  The archive also installs ³Getting Started with TF/User² stand-alone documentation.  We recommend that you start by installing and using this software to get a good understanding of TeleFinder from a userıs perspective.

³TeleFinder BBS Demo.sea² installs the files and applications that you can use to setup your own TeleFinder BBS.  ³TeleFinder BBS Demo.sea² also installs the documentation that describes how to setup the BBS and the limitations of the demo.

The full TeleFinder BBS also includes TeleFinder User for Windows.  This program brings TeleFinderıs easy to use graphic interface to IBM PC compatibles running Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or higher.  The version included here is a Macintosh file in DOS format.  This meand that PC users can download the file from your BBS and install it on their PC.

*************  INSTALLING TELEFINDER USER FOR WINDOWS *************


To install TFUSR.EXE:
- Copy ( or download ) TFUSR.EXE to a PC's 'C' drive.  

(Perform this step from DOS, not WIndows)
- At the "C:>" prompt, type :TFUSR.  This runs the self-extracting program and installs a TFUSER directory on the C drive.

-  Return to Windows after the self-extracting program completes.

(This part is in Windows)
- Open the Windows File Manager.
- Open a C drive window, then open the TFUSER directory.
-  From the File Manager double-click on TFUSER.EXE to run TeleFinder/User for Windows.
( or select the "Run" command from Program Manager and enter C:\TFUSR\TFUSER ).

- After TeleFinder User for Windows is running, consult its on-line help for instructions on using the software.
