These directories contain contributions donated by HDF users. Although NCSA is pleased that the software here supports the HDF5 file format, NCSA is not in a position to endorse any particular product/software. Descriptions on this page come from the software vendors/users, and any claims made are theirs. We sincerely thank the people who have gone to the trouble of packaging and donating this software, and we encourage others to do the same. Listed below are brief descriptions of the contents of each of the directories. Each directory has a README file with further details. ============================================================ HDF5 Logo 9/26/03 hdf5-logo/ Ireneusz Szczesniak has contributed an HDF5 Logo designed with the Adobe Illustrator software. The archive file includes these three files: 1. hdf5.ai - the Adobe Illustrator file 2. hdf5.pdf 3. hdf5.eps Files hdf5.pdf and hdf5.eps can be used for posters and presentations - they are scalable and very small (2KB and 5KB). The Adobe Illustrator file hdf5.ai is also included in case you want to modify the image. ============================================================ Autoconf macros for C and C++ 9/26/03 autoconf-macros/ Ireneusz Szczesniak has provided Autoconf macros which any package using HDF5 can use. There are two macros, hdf5.m4 (for the C interface) and hdf5_cpp.m4 (for the C++ interface) These files are copyrighted by the Tech-X Corporation, but can be used freely, provided that Tech-X Corporation's copyright is acknowledged. ============================================================ Cygwin patch with gcc 3.3 7/23/03 cygwin/ Manuel Gamito has donated a cygwin patch for HDF5-1.6.0, which uses gcc 3.3. ============================================================ Borland C++ (Windows) 9/16/02 Step by step instructions for building HDF5-1.4.4 with Borland C++. Contributed by: Chad Schneide (schneide@nrel.colostate.edu) ============================================================ LabVIEW 3/7/02 Information on use of LabVIEW and HDF5. ============================================================ h5compact.c 1/4/01 This is a utility that walks through an HDF5 file, and copies all datasets, committed datatypes, comments and attributes to the new HDF5 file. It has not been tested on enums, ragged-arrays etc., but it was never meant to be anything but a small fix, until the developers decide to enable the use of freed chunks in a file. It has been tested on Intel Linux and Intel GNU/Win32. Submitted by Dan Anov: dan@bioteknologisk.dk ============================================================ HL-HDF 12/02 HL-HDF, contributed by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), is a high level interface to HDF5. It is designed to focus on selected HDF5 functionality and make it available to users at a high level of abstraction to facilitate data management. HL-HDF also includes a Python programming language interface, call PyHL. ============================================================ Sony Playstation 2 3/03 A user has contributed the changes needed to build HDF5 on a Sony Playstation 2. .
