NewsBytes According to an article in the October issue of Electronic Learning, results of a nationwide survey of 40,000 schools found that economic hard times had not curbed the purchase and use of new technologies. Of the schools surveyed: -- 2,600 plan to increase software purchases -- 2,400 plan to increase videodisc purchases -- 7,500 use videodiscs -- 6,000 use CD-ROM -- 8,700 have Local Area Networks -- 19,000 use modems .
