Call for Submissions Making an Interface That's User Friendly The dictionary defines the word "interface" as a communication or interaction; and as computer hardware or software designed to communicate information between devices, programs, and users. From this definition comes the name of this newsletter which is designed to provide a means of interaction for all schools involved in the IBM Teacher Preparation Grant Project. This forum will provide member schools with opportunities to exchange ideas concerning communication and interaction related to computer hardware, software, and users (interfacers)! Each issue will consist of news, articles, Spotlight articles, NewsBytes, and other useful information. Interface will be published four times a year and distributed to the approximately 144 schools of education participating in the grant schools project as well as selected IBM regional offices and other educational sites. Articles related to any aspect of technology in education and/or teacher preparation at your school may be submitted. Through this collaborative effort, we will try to provide you with a look at the kinds of programs your colleagues around the country are developing. Where possible we will include contact information about the projects and activities that appear in this newsletter, and hope that this information will encourage you to share resources with other IBM Teacher Preparation Grant Schools. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or would just like to chat, please feel free to contact us at the address below. We would like to include an article about your school in the next issue. Articles should be one half to one page in length and may be sent by surface mail, fax, or electronic mail to the addresses listed below. If you have photographs or graphics you feel will help describe your projects and activities, we would like to include them with your article. This might include scenes of your campus, computer lab, a sample computer screen, or your school logo. The submission deadline for the summer issue of Interface is May 30, 1992.
