I thought the latest 1.3 pre-release addresses both of these. So 
jblack's 1.2.2rc2, and the official 1.3pre1.

I don't believe there is a finalized official release that handles this, 
but I believe tla-1.3 is supposed to be out soon. It at least has some 
sort of release candidate.
