The action is Zenaan> Spearheading development of arch is "leaving the game"?!? The game Tom and I were talking about is "industry funding for development of important new classes of application"; I should think that the fact that Tom is not even sitting in the stands (until very recently) is obvious from your own post---see below. Furthermore, Tom is a former employee of the Artist Formerly Known As Cygnus Solutions. Nobody is willing to say much about the separation, but it clearly was an issue of refusing the boss's orders, not incompetence or being hired away by a competitor. I think it's fair to say he left the game. Zenaan> So Tom is not being an entrepreneur in his development, in Zenaan> his work building arch/tla, in establishing this Zenaan> community, in maxing out all his credit lines, in living Zenaan> on the edge, in persevering for month after month, in Zenaan> short, putting his actions where his principles lie? That's an apt description of "a hero," but not of "an entrepreneur." Zenaan> You're clearly missing reality today sorry... No, you just have more flexible definitions of some halo words than I do. That's nice, but it doesn't help connect Tom with money and influence. I think we can agree that it would be a good thing if he had more of both? -- Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences http://turnbull.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Ask not how you can "do" free software business; ask what your business can "do for" free software. _______________________________________________ Gnu-arch-users mailing list Gnu-arch-users@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnu-arch-users GNU arch home page: http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/gnu-arch/
