Well they seem to be the subject of endless bickering on this mailing list. The presence of "move" and "delete" clearly causes confusion for beginners, as they think that "mv" and "move" are synonyms (and "rm" and "delete"); given that people generally want to use "mv" and "rm" anyway, it seems quite silly to confuse them this way. For advanced users and scripts, keep "move-id" and "delete-id" -- their names make it clear what they do, and avoid confusing beginners -- and either remove "move" and "delete", or make them invisible aliases with a warning message or something. -Miles -- Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.
