HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT OPTION ================================= Option Aims/Objectives & Careers -------------------------------- Human Resources Management covers all activities of line managers and personnel specialists involved in the development and implementation within the organization of human resources strategies, policies and practices with respect to human resources planning and staffing, training, development and career management, employee and labour relations, remuneration and benefits, and employee safety, health and welfare. This concept extends the scope of the conventional personnel function from its employee-related administrative, service, and control activities to encompass strategic activities in which the human resources of the organization are allocated, developed and integrated with the organization's strategic plans and corporate objectives. This development into a major corporate function within the organization has arisen from the recognition that increased effectiveness and productivity depends upon a well-qualified workforce operating in a well-designed work environment. Graduates who have specialised in human resources management are in strong demand within Hong Kong for positions in general management and in specialised positions concerned with staff recruitment, selection and placement, training and development, employee and labour relations, and remuneration and benefits.
