APPLIED ECONOMICS OPTION ======================== Option Aims/Objectives & Careers -------------------------------- The Applied Economics Option has been included in the BBA degree course in the belief that a sound training in economics gives a most useful perspective for informed decision making in business. The Option aims at providing a broad based programme in applied economics with a strong focus on Hong Kong and Chinese economies. The emphasis is on the application of economics to the solution of business problems and as such makes a strong thrust at meeting the vocational needs of the students. More specifically, the BBA degree with the option in Applied Economics is designed to prepare students for a wide range of careers in commerce, industry and government. Graduates are expected to be particularly suitable for employment in industrial development, business and economic forecasting, empirical research and analysis of the impact of government policies, domestic as well as foreign, on various local industries.
