VIII. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE OFFICE (ISEO) 1. The International Student Exchange Programme at Hong Kong Baptist University serves to enhance the internationalization of the university campus. International students bring with them rich experiences and unique cross-culture perspectives that help to internationalize the campus and give local students first-hand opportunities to learn about other parts of the world. Cultural exchange, language enhancement, and a broadened global perspective are maximized through the international exchange programme when give participating students an edge in international relations. 2. International students are housed in the NTT International House sharing a room with a local Baptist University student to further enhance the international study/culture exchange. 3. The International Student Exchange Office (ISEO) liaises with overseas institutions and prospective individual international students to arrange one or two semesters’ study programmes. The ISEO also organizes orientation programmes to help familiarize international students with the University campus, facilities, and programmes as well as with Hong Kong and Chinese culture in general. Tours of Hong Kong and other cultural activities and programmes and short trips to Mainland China are organized by the ISEO with the aim of assisting international students in developing an understanding of and appreciation for Hong Kong and Chinese culture. 4. In addition, international students are required to enroll in CHI 2000 Understanding Chinese Culture to further broaden their exposure to and understanding of Chinese culture. The subject is taught by lecturers mainly from the academic departments of Chinese, Religion/Philosophy, and History, and includes local field trips related to the topics studied. 5. The ISEO is located in the Fong Shu Chuen Library Building, 502, Ho Sin Hang Campus. .
