X.      ACADEMIC COMMUNITY HALL (A.C. HALL)

        The Academic Community Hall is a non-UGC funded part of the Hong
        Kong Baptist University.  It has a high degree of administrative
        autonomy as it operates under a separate management board, and
        it maintains separate accounts as required by the Registrar
        General of the Hong Kong SAR Government.  The Hall was officially
        opened in 1978.  It provides the University with a suitable and
        convenient venue for official functions such as the University
        Forum, the Convocation and the Commencement.  It is also open to
        the public to be hired for various cultural activities.
