I was curious how they could have possibly edited out all the profanity, ao I watched it for a few minutes. The one that got me laughing was the overdub that had Samuel Jackson call himself a "bad motherfather." Another funny overdub was in 'Sixteen Candles.' EGBH ------------------------------ From: "Roger" Subject: Re: drug tests for jobs (NDC) Date: 19 Oct 2005 09:08:36 -0700 Unfortunately, drug testing for pre-employment isn't going to go away in the forseeable future. It's become too big an industry. Billions are spent annually on testing, and many people are entering the field of drug test specimen collection. One can become a certified collection agent and open a business to profit from it. The specimen itself is usually sent to an independent lab for testing. I can sort of understand why someone like an air-traffic controller or school bus driver might be tested, but Wendy's employees? C'mon, give me a break. >From talking to local employers, it seems liability insurance is becoming more difficult and expensive to obtain without drug testing. I work as a lab tech in a small rural hospital, and pre-employment and post-accident specimen collection has become a large part of our business. We contract with many local employers to collect specimens, most of which are sent out for analysis. Direct observaton is rare, usually done only when the employer requests it, or when the subject is unable to produce a suitable specimen (ie, temperature is out of range, or volume is too small). Having said that, when it's my turn to pull collection duty, the test subjects are given the most lenient procedure they'll ever get anywhere. If the temperature is out of range, so what. I sign off on it anyway. My supervisor knows my feelings about drug testing, that it's basically an invasion of privacy and should be illegal. But I get assigned to it anyway. It's the one part of my job that really sucks.
