Edwin PS I was also at 5/7/77. The Gahden sold me a seat in the second balcony that had a notch cut out for it to accommodate the huge concrete pillar that supported the ceiling. When I straddled the pillar and tried to sit in that seat, my face was literally pressed against the concrete. I can't believe it was a ticket that they actually sold! When I complained about the "obstructed view", the Garden staff calmly pointed out that tickets were still available and I was free to buy another. Instead, I found a free seat on the balcony rail and had a splendid view, although the sound was a little weird, as I could hear it fly past me down the hall and strike the rear wall and bounce back. I dunno, we lived in California for a few years, and was constantly "chilled" summer or winter (Monterey Bay area). Our heat is generally set at 65F and it's come on a couple of times in the past couple of weeks. Don't think we could possibly make it until Thanksgiving - most winters we have snow on the ground by then! We favor down-filled duvets and flannel sheets on our beds in winter. Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2005 15:03:48 -0400 I waited 2 hours in a line on the street for Ryan Adams tix! There is this thing that is going on @ the Tribeca Performing Arts Center http://www.musicdowntown.org. in New York City. I waited for close to 2 hours in the windy downtown area of NYC for tickets to a Ryan Adams. I don't even know who he is, and I still waited for tickets. Actually they are not for me, they are for a friend that lives in The Birkeshire's (western end of MA). He asked me if I would wait on line for him. He said he would make it worth while for me. It was a schlep to get into *the city*. I drove into work and then I parked the booie mobile where I work and then I took one train to another train and then was in *the city* in no time flat. It still was a hoof. So when I got into *the city* I asked for directions and to where the place was and I the went that way. It was very windy in the downtown area. I found the place, right across the street from the New York Stock Exchange. I then saw the line. DAMN!!! The line was very long. There must have been 1000 people in front of me. This was 10:00am. They were letting the tickets go @ 11:00am. So I got on line. Then the line started forming behind me. There must have been another 1000 behind me. DAMN!!! So I waited and waited. There was a 2 ticket limit per show with a 2 show limit. All the tickets were free. So I was pondering on getting either Rickie Lee Jones tickets or some guy called Jeff Tweedy for myself. Who the hell is Jeff Tweedy? Someone said he was in a band called Wilco? Who the hell are they? Rickie or Jeff? I chose Jeff Tweedy. Will I like his music? Do I wanna go? Do you want to go? There are 6 musical events that were happening this one week in November. The choice's I had were; Blind Boys of Alabama, Jeff Tweedy, Rickie Lee Jones, Buddy Guy + Shemekia Copeland, Ryan Adams, Aimee Mann. I wonder if I made the right decision? Jeff Tweedy, what kind of music does he play? He was the only one playing there 2 nites in a row. The things I do for friends. Just give me my Kimock and let me be. booie....... .. .. The outro out of Crazy Fingers is worth price of admission. After a fun space and drums, the boys get sentimental with The Last Time and Attics. Nice encore with Baby Blue. I wish this was my last show but I went the next night and was less than overwhelmed. At least my last Dead tune was Brokedown Palace.
