When I initially posted to this thread, I had the impression that it was Rick Sutcliffe I was listening do color for the Angels-White Sox series, but other folks mention Tim McCarver? I thought I know what McCarver sounds like, but was just curious who is doing the ESPN feed; in Japan, I swear that the feed I've been watching says ESPN (though it's being carried locally on the noncommercial Japanese public broadcaster NHK), but on an NHK taped-delay broadcast of the Astros-Cards, the graphics said it was a Fox broadcast, which also was promoting the Angels-White Sox game which was to follow -- on Fox. The announcers may identify themselves periodically on the U.S. feed, but in Japan they go to Japanese-language analysts during the U.S. commercial breaks and haven't been clear on who's doing the announcing for the Angels-White Sox series. The Astros-Cards telecast did list the four guys that announced that game. -- Peace, Steve ------------------------------ From: band beyond description <123@456.com> Subject: Re: FA: GRATEFUL DEAD "COME ALIVE" Austrailian Import Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2005 00:19:23 +0900 this is a bootleg LP of Grateful Dead product that is otherwise freely available or legitimately for sale in official release form that you are selling; take your spamming elsewhere. -- Peace, Steve ------------------------------ From: DG Subject: Re: Santana has his own "Deborah" (NDC) Date: Sun, 16 Oct 2005 08:19:36 -0700 band beyond description wrote: > >Tim Donohoe said: > >> band beyond description wrote: >>> >>> ``Bruce was placed in a position of responsibility but was unable to >>> perform his job at the level required,'' the statement quoted by the >>> Los Angeles Times said. >>> >>> ``He was given support and every opportunity to succeed. The merchants seem to know they are handling hot goods. I doubt there is any way around getting some legal help. Maybe you can find someone who could work it pro bono, or a legal aid type lawyer. I don't think that simply because state-lines were crossed that the matter is automatically a Federal case. Although if the thief has done this repeatedly, and/or if the monetary value is high enough maybe they'd be interested. On the other hand, I'd bet the FBI could care less. Unless it was stolen by Muslim terrorists. Bottom line is you need some competent legal advice before anything else. Good luck. Yes, and last night I checked out his webpage which was pretty cool. But I heard about them more than 16 years ago, this guy should have as well. Based on the Santanas statement, the guy couldn't perform the job they gave him. A "kook" perhaps, but also a fantastic guitar player. Don't pass up the chance to see him perform. Last time I saw him was here in Minneapolis, and Prince came out and played a song with him.
