Date: 14 Oct 2005 05:26:55 -0700 My delivery was "sidetracked", who's holding?? Traffic stop turned drug bust By Brittany Anas, Camera Staff Writer October 13, 2005 A Boulder woman is in jail after authorities found a "smorgasbord" of suspected drugs in her car, including hundreds of ecstasy pills, gallons of hallucinogenic mushrooms and more than a kilogram of cocaine and heroin. Patrol officers from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office stopped Amy Catter, 24, in east Boulder County on Tuesday morning and learned that she was driving with a suspended license. During the stop, the deputies saw suspected drugs in her vehicle, said Steve Prentup, commander of the Boulder County Drug Task Force. Prentup said officials seized what they believe to be more than 700 ecstasy pills and more than a kilogram of cocaine from Catter's car. They also found 11/2 pounds of suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms. "They are dry, so they don't weigh very much bulk-wise," Prentup said. "Volume- wise, that's a lot. It's the equivalent of five or six gallons." Prentup said officers also found 10 ounces of suspected heroin that was packaged in gel caps. "That's probably the most significant heroin seizure that we've made in a long time," he said. There also was marijuana in the vehicle, Prentup said. Officers stopped Catter at 9:30 a.m. on 95th Street, south of Baseline Road. "It was a significant amount of drugs," Prentup said. "It really was a smorgasbord of chemicals. It was certainly destined to be distributed." Catter was booked at the Boulder County Jail on Wednesday night. She is being held in lieu of a $2,500 bond. She does not have a prior arrest record in the state, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Catter was the only person arrested in Tuesday's drug bust, but the Boulder County Drug Task Force is continuing its investigation. ------------------------------ From: "Everybody's Gonna Be Happy" Subject: Re: Awesome Ukulele Video Date: Fri, 14 Oct 2005 05:43:40 -0700 "Jerry's Kids" wrote in message news:1129257956.667211.276470@g49g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > Check out this link for an awesome ukulele video of George Harrison's > "While My Guitar Gently Sleeps" done by a master of the Uke. I don't care much for Sir Paul, especially at these superstar conclaves in which he usually tosses off a Hey Jude and sits back for the waves of applause, but everyone simply has to see this. Paul does All Things Must Pass (along with several others), and not only was it emotional (the lyrics, jeez) but musically perfect. I haven't been moved by Paul's music since Maybe I'm Amazed. There's a bit of chaff in the show, but most of it is priceless, timeless, and just plain great. And Dhani Harrison is a literal clone of his father. McClellan had the nerve to say something like, "Do you dare suggest that Our Troops would be lying?", or to paraphrase "why do you hate our troops so much?". The brewery I work for part time (and support by consuming mass quantities of their beer) has hit the big time with their Belgian quadruple. It was the only American beer to be listed in the top ten of Belgian ales, per a New York Times beer tasting. It appears Weyerbacher Quad is in some pretty good company. Here's a link to the article: http://www.beeryard.com/news/default.cfm?action=view&id=561 I'll be pouring tons of this tomorrow when I work the brewery. Hey, if anyone is in the Easton area, stop in for some free samples (www.weyerbacher.com). The Quad is always running... Well, as I said, I think the importance of the draft in baseball has grown significantly in the last ten or fifteen years. Scouting has gotten better, and college baseball has become more of a feeder system. There are also a lot more big summer leagues where talent can be evaluated. You're seeing a lot fewer high school players getting drafted, and those are the players who are hardest to judge. As I also said, I don't know why the Braves have been able to keep reloading year after year without much in the way of free agent acquisitions, but that's just one team. The A's always have good prospects because they've chosen to spend all their money on their minor league system. While that might keep them competitive for a while, they're not going to win anything. > >> In >>addition, when you're in contention every year, you're in a position >>where you're pretty much forced to trade off some of your young talent >>in mid-season to acquire veterans who will be more useful in a pennant >>race. > >No, you're not. You've brought up a bunch of guys who are mostly fringe players and who would have never started for the Yankees. And how does Pavano fit in there? He was originallysigned by the Red Sox.
