What said anything about Townhall being a 'reliable' source? Oh yeah - you did. In general I don't take things published at Townhall seriously - it's full of conservative frothing-at-the-mouth barking moonbat essays, like the one you linked to here. Novak, however, is a special case. I generally don't agree with his opinions and his editorializing, and he sometimes gets his fact's wrong too (like when he asserted some months back that Renquist was retiring that weekend). But he also often gets his facts correct, so I take him seriously on that level. I generally like Al Frankin and find him amusing to listen to (he's in no way what many on the right say is the left's equivalent to Limbaugh - unlike Limbaugh, Frankin usually gets his facts straight), but otherwise I too find Air America unlistenable - way too biased, arrogant, and sanctimonious for my tastes. That said, there *might* be some truth to the Bush drinking rumor, dunno. Yes, the 'news' source is the Natl. Enquirer and thus one should consider said 'news' skeptically, but in recent years they've earned a reputation for reporting things like this relatively accurately (although nonetheless usually way over-sensationalized) - for example they were the ones to break the Limbaugh-is-a-hillbilly-heroin-junky report. As such I don't write this Bush-is-back-on-the-bottle 'news' completely off, though at the same time I won't take it all that seriously unless there is independent confirmation. BTW even though outside of Franken I generally can't listen to Air America I'm glad it's there - it provides a modicum of REAL balance to all of the right-wing trash that floods the radio airwaves. Before Air America came along people routinely compared Limbaugh to NPR in terms of left-right 'balance' on the radio - and that's a gross distortion, even though many on the right didn't see it that way (and many still don't). Unlike NPR, Air America is an entity that is at least reasonably fair to compare against right-wing radio. Prior to '82, the song was just filler (although some of the Sept. 79 versions of St. with alternate lyrics that are interesting). However, all bets were off with Sailor>Saint starting with the Spring '82 tour. Check out Hartford 4/17 for a killer version of the song. The intensity of Lost Sailor simply builds and builds and then explodes into Saint. I was rarely disappointed with it after that show. The version from the 6/15/85 Greek show is about the most perfect version ever played. It's too bad Sailor was shelved after the spring '86 tour. The final one in Philly was pretty nice too. The bottom line is, if you didn't like Sailor>Saint starting with the Spring '82 tour, then you weren't paying attention.
