And speaking of doing it "for the fans," in order to qualify for tickets, there has to be a test. Both multiple choice and essay questions. Make sure the true fans end with the tickets, not just some idiot with too much money who wants to look cool. And this fall, if I only want to see Lenny Kravitz opening set but not Aerosmith's headline set then I should only pay $30 for a $90 seat and some guy who only wants to see Aerosmith can pay $60 for the same seat. That way everybody wins. Its not fair to charge me 100% of the price if I am not going to see 100% of the show. And that I leave early and that seat goes unoccupied the rest of the night. ------------------------------ From: "Nick's Picks" Subject: 6-12-92 re-appreciation post Date: 2 Oct 2005 11:11:34 -0700 this FOTM never fails to thrill me. http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=13202 under rated show. should have been the pick over 12-16. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 02 Oct 2005 11:41:29 -0700 Subject: Re: question about "Stuck in the middle with you" From: Steve Lenier in article dHR%e.944$aB1.5822@eagle.america.net, Everybody's Gonna Be Happy at Davko58@crestviewcable.com wrote on 10/2/05 6:57 AM: > > wrote in message > news:1128220457.151043.157780@f14g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... >> you know that song? >> >> I've heard it a thousand times on the radio and if it's not Bob Dylan >> singing, I'll eat my proverbial hat. Sorry you're tired of me and my bitching. Give yourself a break and don't read my posts. Because I sure can bitch. I am not a happy camper these days when it comes to the state of the nation and the world. Though contrary to what you seem to think, I have a very constructive and positive alternative: see the world in light of the painfully obvious fact that politicians of all stripes are liars, crooks and power-arrogant bastards. Beyound that, do I have a blueprint, dogma or blind party loyalty? Nope. But that's better than being a fool or a tool. (Oh, except that like a dumbass fool, I voted for Kerry. Damn.) I try to keep an open mind, but I will cop to being way too cynical. Hardly surprising for someone who is old enough to have been eligible (and registered) to vote since Nixon v. McGovern. Therefore I simply believe that voting Democratic in precisely not a constructive alternative. > Get out of Iraq now. Okay ... you ran the link. It so happens that I agree I didn't run that link. D. Well, to be fair, I never said that you promoted or advocated perjury. As for what I did write, as opposed to the words you try to ascribe to me, it's possible I misunderstood what you wrote in another recent thread where it seemed to me that you defended Clinton's lying under oath. To protect his family. Because he was being hounded by The Right (and I certainly agree he was.) If I misunderstood/mistated your ideas from that other thread, I'm sorry. And if that's the case, I'll assume you agree with me that no president--Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, whoever--should lie under oath. > > The Democratic Party voted for this war, and they still support it. > > There you go again. You would probably do better to take the time > that you spend posting your rants here, and write to encourage your > representatives to support bringing the troups home. You want to think I'm naive about political realities or some such thing. And why am I naive? Because I believe that politicians who lie and mislead in order to get elected and/or stay in power can never be trusted. From what you've written before, you seem to think that politicians have to lie to get elected and the Democrats are your chosen liars. I don't feel compelled to choose between the liars. Virtually the entire leadership of the Democratic Party voted for Bush's military madness in Iraq. They aren't stupid, they weren't fooled and so they must share some of the blame for 2000+ US soldiers and literally uncounted thousands of Iraqis dead and a country that did not attack us being destroyed. If you're okay with that, good for you. Not that you personally are okay with the war (I don't think you are), but okay with politicians who voted for this war because they had to in order to be elected. I'm not okay with that. They have blood on their hands, but you apparently think that's better than "volunteering for an ass beating", i.e., losing an election. You don't like me because I don't like or trust the Democrats (your chosen liars) any more than the Republicans. Which is not at all. And I can't shut up about it, dammit! Well, I can live with that. So don't read what I write. Regardless of what you think, it's not a personal crusade against you, Richard. It's about what I think of politicians. Including your chosen liars, the Demopublicans. (BTW, I can't figure out your comment about writing my representative, since I've never posted anything here about that topic. Who knows? Maybe I write, call and visit my rep regularly. Or not.) Take the last shot here if you want it. I'll read it, but since we will continue to disagree about many things, I don't think I need to add more.
