I don't, but there is a profound difference between sueing someone sueing because of a percieved wrong, and sueing companies that are blatantly breaking a law that is not enforced equally. If I can be arrested for selling one or two extras to a Red Sox game or a concert for face value, how is ok for these guys to make hundreds of dollars per ticket and not be proscuted? Ever hear of equal protection under the law? Either toss the law, or prosecute everyone who violates it. Furthermore, there is a rather strong case that can be made that what these agents do amounts to racketeering, so I think that there could be a case made that federal RICO laws are being violated. Your moral compass needs some adjusting if you think that collusion and rigging a market are ok. It wasn't ok when Enron and Tyco scammed people, why is it ok for the ticket industry to do the same? Seriously, though, I have to admit to being a little conflicted on the scalping issue, and I also have to cop to using such services from time to time in the past. And I can't say I wouldn't again, although I do refuse to pay outrageously exorbitant prices. On the one hand, the free market argument does make a lot of sense, even when it comes to scalpers. They certainly can't be lumped in with price gougers who take advantage of people buying necessities. As DG points out, going to a show is a nonessential luxury item for most people. That being said, I do experience some sense of guilt when I buy tickets from a scalper and I do feel like I'm engaging in a bit of a sleazy transaction. I guess I wouldn't have as much trouble with paying what the market will bear if the scalpers came by their tickets through legitimate means. Let's not forget that the people who profit by providing tickets to scalpers are just as much a part of the problem, as are the people who do pay those exorbitant prices. i don't think there would be nearly the uproar about scalping if people just didn't get so greedy about it.
