I'm no "computer expert", but since this is a math question and I'm bored I'll take a stab at ballparking it: Ass-uming a 4:3 aspect ratio, the hypotenuse (sp?) of a right triangle with sides of 4 and 3 would be 5. Given a 5:4:3 ratio, a 15" monitor would have sides of 12 and 9 inches, giving an area of 108 sq inches. A 19" monitor would have sides of 15.2 and 11.4 inches, giving an area of 173.28 sq inches, aprroximately 60.4% larger. Figures based on actual measurements, of course, would be far more accurate, thus the "ballparking" disclaimer. Plus I didn't have a calculator handy and scribbled out the math on an old envelope. (great job kicking Giant ass last night). > Weird day in S.D. yesterday. We drove from O.C. to Old Town San Diego. Stopped for a few beers and then took the trolley to the stadium. I knew there was going to be a lot of anti-Eli sentiment at the game but I was unprepared for how vehement it was. I had my Tiki Barber jersey on, and the anti-Manning thing definitely definitely spilled over into an anti-Giant fan thing. I've never been shoved and taunted at an game like that before. (Best bathroom line moment - two young guys in Giant jerseys weaving down the hall yelling "Go Giants" and getting in the faces of just about everyone. They stopped to hi-five and slobber on me, and one of they guys says, "Dude, I'm not even a Giant fan - I'm a Raider fan but I just wanted to stir shit up.) My wife was wearing a Giant's hat and I was very happy to get out of there at the end of the game with only a few comments. Charger fans were definitely doing the Raider nation thing last night. The crowd noise was deafening. I've been to the Super Bowl, World Series games and any number of Yankee and Giant home games and this was the loudest crowd I've ever heard. The "Eli sucks" chant was overwhelming. Here's the thing though: Eli doesn't suck. He passed for more than 300 yards and more than stood up to the pressure. He stayed in the pocket and scrambled when he needed to. Other than one sack, they never laid a glove on him. In a bar after the game, a Charger fan was saying, "we should have knocked him around more." They couldn't. Manning owes his offensive line big. Defense on the other hand was pitiful. Neither the Giants nor the Chargers have anything to be pleased about defensively. However, after a number of years, it looks the Giants may have a quarterback. Note to San Diego fans: Your guy Tomlinson was amazing last night. However, the whole "L.T." thing has got to go. Get him a nickname. There's already an "L.T." If anything, Phish music was eclectic. It wasn't just one genre not even close. Check out 12-7-97. Phish also did a sweet rendition of Terrapin Station on 8-9-98 in honor of JG's passing. Some people will never accept them and certainly Phish is no Grateful Dead. With that said, Phish were an amazing group of four musicians. Trey is an indisputable talent and had the incredible energy to match. Check out the Good Times Bad Times from 12-1-92..Trey manages to summon up both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page in this cover. The Who's A Rat site has law-enforcement officials steaming, because it allows anyone who can log onto the Internet to post pictures of alleged stool pigeons, alongside information about where they can be found and what they've done. The operators of the site say it's "designed to help attorneys and criminal defendants with few resources." But the NYPD thinks it's also a way to put cops in the cross hairs. "It would appear that under the guise of defendants' rights, the site recklessly puts lives at risk," said NYPD spokesman Paul Brown. "They have a right to their opinion under the First Amendment and so do we," said Anthony Capone, spokesman for the www.whosarat.com site, when asked for comment. Capone said the site was created by Bostonian Sean Bucci, who after being busted on a marijuana charge "got an insight into how these agents and cops utilize these informants that are more of a threat to society than their targets." The site has nearly 300 entries claiming to have information about cops and federal agents. It also has more than 1,000 entries about civilian "rats" and other informants. There are no NYPD officers listed on the site, but there are federal agents for several departments listed, some with their pictures. The FBI in New York thinks this could put the agents at risk.
