Since you agree that what I wrote is "true" then you agree that whatever the local NO officials did or didn't do is IRRELEVANT - the feds are responsible for their OWN response (and lack thereof). > Face it, > corrupt feel-good New Orleans pols dropped the ball. Let's say for argument's sake that what you are saying is true, and the NO officials were "*totally* unprepared". (FWIW I think it's too early to make that call, but I think it's pretty clear that at least in some ways they inexcusably failed to carry out their official respsonsbilities - for eampel I could be proven wrong I can't think of any other explanation for the buses that were left unused.) Even if, as you claim, they were argument's sake that what you are saying is true, and the NO officials were "totally unprepared," that DOESN'T EXCUSE THE FEDS' PISS-POOR RESPONSE. Do you agree? Or are you just going to play the blame-game too? > Still, FEMA chief > gets fired and the Prez accepts "responsibility". That's a start. > > And the fact that PV refuse to acknowledge this obvious fact > > demonstrates that he's a troll, an extreme partisan idiot, or some > > combination of the two - no doubt about it. > > "Extreme partisan" is all in the eyes of the beholder. Not everything is subjective. By my definition someone is an "extreme partisan" when they refuse to acknowledge what is obviously objectively true in order to stick to maintain their partisan position. And the fact that whatever the local officials did or didn't do is irrelevant to the feds' failure to carry out their own responsibilities is obviously objectively true. And thus the fact that PV refuses to acknowledge this obviously objectively true fact marks him as an "extreme partisan" in my book, and/or a troll. YMMV. This is not true. A brain scan will show ADHD. And the kids who have it, are not just displaying a few symptoms, but MANY, NON-STOP. "Normal" kids given ritalin will not "calm down" - it is a speed derivative. Kids with ADHD calm down with ritalin and other stimulants - it's called a paradoxal effect. If a kid becomes a "zombie" on the meds - DUH, it's too high a dose! My son has ADHD and *believe* me, I know about it! However, ritalin did not work for him - after a couple of weeks, we changed drugs. Went off drugs. Learned behavior theory (in MANY varied forms). Went on drugs. Changed drugs. Finally a year ago the right drug combo that allows him to slow down enough to have a complete thought was arrived at. Do I *LIKE* that we had to play merry-go-round drugs with him? Definately not. Unfortunately, trial and error is what we have to go with. Do I wish he could be a person capable of living life on his own *without* the drugs? Of course! But we've been there and done that tooooo many times, and at 18, if he's living here with us, he WILL take the drugs that help him be a (mostly) reasonable, wonderful, energetic to the **extreme*, loving son and big brother. He agrees, and we've had many talks with him growing up - he's been part of his med plans since we started them when he was almost 5... and injuring his little brother every second we weren't watching him - and it wasn't malicious (most of the time). You literally could not take your eye off him for ONE second. Thankfully we all survived his childhood... but I still wonder about my own sanity! He's turned out to be an amazing guy. Smart, good-looking, full of himself... basically your regular 18 yr old. He sees a pretty girl and damn near snaps his neck off, eats like a horse, and really likes computer rpgs and reading sci-fan. Decided to drop out of the college class he's taking, but I can live with that. After some motherly pissing and moaning about lost opportunity, of course. If/when he's ready, he'll go. Meantime, he can work full-time now that he doesn't have school/homework. He loves that idea! Sherry in Vermont ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Clinton interviews..
