When did I do that? You're the pretender who posts AP articles (as if AP articles are not on every news webpage) highlighted by your accusation that some of my family & friends hate me & my children. I have never started a thread about Bush and/or Iraq and certainly never posted a news article to usenet unless (and it's rare) it's from an unusual source that wouldn't normally be seen by most in their daily news reads. If I start a thread here, 99% chance it's music related. In the very off chance it's not, it's says either (OT) or NDC as a filter courtesy. ------------------------------ Reply-To: "The Iron Muffin" From: "The Iron Muffin" Subject: Re: Guitarist's pick their GD songs they would play. (ODC: Lee Oskar played harp on a couple GD songs you've probably heard of...) ========== Forwarded message ========== Okay, yeah, I'm buggin' you guys with this a third time, but it's for an excellent cause. I want to see Jazz Alley packed to the rafters tonight, and there's still a rafter or two left unpacked. Plus, we have at least one more name artist who's been added to the festivities, and I wanted to let you know. LEE OSKAR, Harmonica wizard! You may not recognize the name, but you've definitely heard him play. Lee was the original harmonica player for War. All those cool licks on "Cisco Kid," "The World Is A Ghetto," "Low Rider," "All Day Music"... that was Lee! Just one more great reason to come on down and get yer N'Awlins on! See you tonight! http://jazzalley.com/artist.asp?name=FUNDRAISING_EVENT_for_The_New_Orleans_Musicians_Clinic FUNDRAISING EVENT for the NEW ORLEANS MUSICIANS CLINIC http://wwoz.org/clinic/ Monday, September 19, 2005 $25.00 ** HURRICANE RELIEF ** The Pacific Jazz Institute at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley hosts for ONE NIGHT, a Fund Raising Event for The New Orleans Musicians Clinic (501-C3 Non-Profit) Doors will open at 6PM and the show starts at 7:30PM. I never expected tickets to still be available when I got home from work today, but after 45 minutes of turning down tix behind the stage I got section 336! Good enough for me! Now I've got to figure out how to get there and where I'm gonna stay. I've never been to "the" city and am not too crazy about the idea of trying to drive there, or find my way around via public transportation, so I'm thinking of taking Amtrak right to Penn Station. Problem with that is where to spend the night, I'm assuming Manhatten hotels are waaay out of my budget. So I guess what I'm asking for is advise on reasonably priced accomodations that are easily accessable from "the garden". Any info appreciated, and I'm sure there are plenty of other folk wondering the same thing. TIA, Jim (from Michigan) ------------------------------ From: "grtflmark" Subject: Re: Oh, By the Way......
