Hello--
It is time again for the Carlson Leadership and Public Service Center to
select students for the Carlson Leadership Award and the Munro Public
Service Scholarships.  Please pass on the following information to 
students who would be good candidates for these awards.  Feel free to 
contact me directly to nominate a student.  The deadline for both these
awards is Tuesday, April 11.

Edward E. Carlson Student Leadership Award
	The Carlson Student Leadership Award recognizes individual
students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to public service,
provided outstanding leadership in the community, and who show promise of
continued creative civic participation.  Each year's honoree receives an
award of $1000.

S. Sterling Munro Public Service Scholarship
	The Munro Public Service Scholarship gives outstanding undergraduates 
the opportunity to design and conduct a service project or enhance a
public service initiative in which they already participate.  Scholarship
recipients will each receive an award of $2000 to be applied to tuition
for the 2000-2001 academic year.
